Veteran Car Donation: Get a donated car.

Homeless Veterans of America

Think about this amazing statistic. According to USA Today, over 200,000 Veterans will wander the streets with no place to go and little to eat.
It should cause great concern for everyone when they walk by a homeless person. There could be many reasons why they are homeless.

born into homeless family
learning and physical disabilities
no source of income
verbal and physical abused

Regardless of their reason, it is sad to see someone live on the streets. Adding to my concern is the fact that 25% of the homeless are veterans. How can that be possible?

Veterans sacrificed their life for our freedom. Without them, we may not be alive to read this article. Vietnam veterans were surrounded by death. Some veterans commented that they never got too close to their squad mates because they would be dead the next day. They ignored their fears and fought effortlessly until our mission was complete.

Somehow, America has missed many opportunities to help the soldiers that returned home disabled. In the year 2010, how are Americans showing their gratitude?

Car Donations

You can show your appreciation by donating your car to homeless veterans. Donating your car has become a great way to avoid the hassles of selling your car. In addition, all car donations are tax deductible. The proceeds of the car sale benefit veterans. The funds raised give food and shelter for homeless veterans.

Interested car donors can follow these easy steps:

1. Fill our car donation form online.
2. Schedule a free towing for pickup
3. Receive tax deduction receipt.

How to Donate your Car

Most car donation organizations accept running and non-running cars in any condition. They also accept many different types of vehicles such as trucks, vans, conversion vans, trailers, RV's and motorcycles.

The value of your car donation is determined by the blue book value of your car. The IRS allows donors to claim the selling price as the tax deduction. Donors need to have the title for the vehicle and a lien release if necessary.

Generally, your vehicle is picked up 2-3 days after you complete the car donation process. The towing and pickup is absolutely free.

The Vietnam Veterans of America have many different non-profit chapters across the U.S, so check to see if there is a car donation center near you.

Donating your car can help provide food and shelter to the ones that gave so much. In a society that worships nice cars and million dollar homes, we have forgotten the ones that made life possible for us today! Veterans bravely defended our country and never hesitated to help ones in need. It is our turn to give back to them!

"Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another."

More importantly, the VVA has donated cars available to ones in need. If you need a source of transportation to and from work, call 800 435-783 to see what is available.
